My Entitled MIL Wore White Dresses to Two Different Weddings – This Time, the Photographer Brought Her Back Down to Earth

At my wedding, my mother-in-law showed up in a full-length white lace gown, clinging to my husband like she was the bride. I tried to let it go, but years later, at my brother-in-law’s wedding, she wore the same dress again. This time, the sharp-tongued photographer saw right through her act—and shut her down.

I only have one wedding photo: a carefully cropped, professionally edited picture of my husband and me. All the others are hidden away on a thumb drive, buried deep so I never have to see my mother-in-law stealing the spotlight again. Jeff and I moved far away soon after, hoping distance would ease the tension.

When my brother-in-law Dylan got engaged, I warned his fiancée, Sarah, about Linda’s history. Sarah thought she’d handle it—Linda promised to keep it simple this time. But at the wedding, Linda showed up in the exact same white lace dress, now with a red sash and full glam. It was déjà vu—and worse.

During photos, Linda photobombed every shot until the photographer finally confronted her: “You’re not the bride, right?” His words cut through her act, leaving her speechless. Dylan stood firm, embracing Sarah, and Linda stormed off in a fury. The rest of the wedding went smoothly—without any more white lace drama. But knowing Linda, this probably isn’t the last we’ve seen of that dress.
