The Creepy Nanny and the Eerie Email — Stories That Haunt Me Still

It started with a mandatory 7 a.m. video call from my boss. Everyone logged in on time, cameras on — but he never showed. We waited for twenty minutes before HR called it off. Later that day, we got the shocking news: he had died in his sleep overnight. I assumed the early meeting was just a calendar mistake, but when I checked the invite again, a chill ran down my spine. The email had been sent at 9:12 a.m. that very morning, from his work account, with the subject line: “Please be on time.” IT said it must be a glitch or a hacked account — but that message still haunts me.

Around the same time, we hired a young, quiet nanny to care for my seven-year-old son. He grew instantly attached, throwing tantrums whenever she wasn’t around. Then, one day, I found something unsettling — a laminated photo of my son tucked in her bag. On the back, two words were scrawled in sharp handwriting: “MY son.” At first, I dismissed it as a strange but harmless quirk, planning to ask her about it during her next visit.

That night, my world turned upside down. I received a frantic call from another mother who had hired the same nanny a year ago. She warned me in a trembling voice: “That girl is obsessed. She tried to take over my family, seduced my husband, and she’s dangerous. Fire her before it’s too late.” I was horrified and heartbroken. When I confronted the nanny, she broke down in tears, insisting it was all lies — but I couldn’t risk my family’s safety.

I let her go immediately. Even now, I replay those moments, wondering what might have happened if I hadn’t trusted that warning. Some stories are stranger than fiction — and these are two that still give me nightmares.
