Every Night I Heard Strange Noises from the Nursery, and Everything Seemed Fine Until I Bought a Baby Monitor – Story of the Day

Reina and Judson lived a peaceful life with their baby girl, Ivy, who never cried at night. But Reina kept hearing strange sounds coming from the nursery. To ease her growing anxiety, she installed a baby monitor with night vision. One night, she was jolted awake by Ivy’s scream and rushed to the nursery, only to find a warm baby bottle on the floor and a glimpse of a shadow on the monitor—someone had been there.

Despite Judson’s reassurances that she was imagining things, Reina was certain someone had entered the house. The next morning, she found a cracked silver pendant near the nursery window—an item she hadn’t seen in years, belonging to her estranged mother. Shocked and determined, Reina drove to her childhood home to confront her mother, who tearfully admitted to sneaking in just to hold Ivy. To Reina’s disbelief, Judson had known and helped her do it.

Reina’s mother revealed a painful past—how Reina’s father and Aunt Jessie had used their influence to commit her to a psychiatric facility, cutting her out of Reina’s life. Judson, skeptical at first, had quietly investigated and confirmed everything. He left a window open at night and disabled the alarm, believing that reuniting mother and daughter had to be done gently, on her terms.

Overwhelmed by the betrayal and truth, Reina left the house in silence. But through the layers of anger, sadness, and confusion, a quiet warmth grew. Her world had been built on lies, but love had fought its way back in. Ivy would have a grandmother, and Reina—after years of abandonment and mistrust—might finally get her mother back.
