Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s Ex-Husband and Talent Manager, Dies at 48 from Cancer

Brandon Blackstock, a well-known Hollywood talent manager and former husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 48 after a more than three-year battle with cancer. His illness had previously led Clarkson to cancel several concert dates, including postponing her Las Vegas residency to focus on their family during his final days.

In a statement to People, Blackstock’s family shared that he died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. They praised his courage throughout his health struggle and requested privacy as they navigate this difficult time. The news came just one day after Clarkson publicly acknowledged his illness and her plans to stay close to their children, River and Remington.

Brandon leaves behind four children: River and Remington with Clarkson, and Savannah and Seth from a previous marriage. He also became a grandfather three years ago, a role he cherished deeply. Clarkson expressed gratitude for her fans’ support and understanding as she prioritized her family’s well-being.

Brandon was also known for his ties to country music royalty, as his father, Narvel Blackstock, was formerly married to country star Reba McEntire. His presence in the entertainment industry was significant, but above all, he will be remembered by those close to him as a devoted father, grandfather, and resilient fighter.
