Families in Minneapolis are grieving after a tragic incident at Annunciation Catholic School that took the lives of 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski.
Both children are being remembered for their joy, laughter, and the love they brought to everyone around them. Fletcher’s father described him as happiest when outdoors or cooking, while Harper’s parents called her a “bright, joyful, and deeply loved” child whose smile could light up any room.
Community members have gathered for vigils, leaving flowers and toys in their memory. Parents are also calling for change, urging leaders to take meaningful steps to ensure safety and prevent future tragedies.
Through their sorrow, Fletcher and Harper’s families hope their children will be remembered not for the circumstances of their passing, but for the lives they lived and the love they gave.
