Chloe was at her breaking point. Her roommate, Alice, had turned their once-cozy apartment into a chaotic mess. Dishes piled high, clothes scattered everywhere, and trash overflowing — Chloe couldn’t take it anymore.
At first, living together had been fun. They shared rent and chores evenly. But over time, Alice stopped cleaning and began dismissing Chloe’s frustration. Things hit a peak when Chloe came home to find Alice and her friends trashing the place again.
The final straw came when Alice demanded the apartment be spotless for a date, mocking Chloe by calling her “Cinderella.” Chloe smiled and agreed — but secretly came up with a plan. She cleaned the apartment until it sparkled, then gathered all of Alice’s dirty dishes, clothes, and trash, piling them neatly in Alice’s bedroom. She locked the door and left a note: “Enjoy the clean apartment!”
When Alice returned with her date, she proudly showed off the spotless living room — until she unlocked her room. Mark, her boyfriend, was horrified by the mess, and Alice was humiliated.
“You sabotaged me!” Alice shouted.
“No,” Chloe said calmly. “This is what I deal with every day. Now you know how it feels.”
Realizing how unfair she’d been, Alice finally apologized. From then on, she started cleaning up after herself. Slowly, their home returned to the warm, welcoming place it once was — and so did their friendship.
