I live alone in a three-bedroom house. When my son got married, he often mentioned that my home would be the perfect place for him and his new wife to start their family. Wanting to support them, I decided to let them have the house while I moved in with my widowed sister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yesterday, my son told me that his mother-in-law would be moving in with them. I was surprised and said, \u201cI didn\u2019t leave my home so that she could live there.\u201d My daughter-in-law then admitted that they had not been honest \u2014 they weren\u2019t planning to start a family yet because they felt too young and unprepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She continued, \u201cBut my mom is alone, and since we have a big house now, we want her to stay with us.\u201d Her words caught me off guard. I reminded them that the house still technically belongs to me and that I hadn\u2019t agreed to this arrangement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
