On October 19, 2025, a party in Pinson turned violent when a fight broke out after a man tried to approach one of Kimber\u2019s friends. The confrontation escalated into gunfire. Kimber, who wasn\u2019t involved, was struck in the head and leg. She was rushed to UAB Hospital, where her family kept vigil by her side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doctors revealed her injuries were too severe to recover from. Knowing Kimber\u2019s wishes, her family made the heartbreaking decision to let her go peacefully \u2014 and honor her final gift to the world by donating her organs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On October 21, hundreds of people lined the hospital hallways for her honor walk, many in tears as Kimber was taken to surgery to give life to others. Her heart now beats inside a 7-year-old boy in Ohio, and her lungs breathe in a woman in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
