My 7-year-old son was happily running around a store when he accidentally broke some plates. I politely asked the store workers to clean it up and hugged my son, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s okay, don\u2019t worry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then I overheard them talking while cleaning, loud enough for me to hear: \u201cIt\u2019s a shame everyone can be a mother today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I fired back with something, and suddenly it turned into a full-on argument. They started yelling things like, \u201cYou\u2019ll have to pay for this!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I didn\u2019t want my son to hear any of it after all my effort raising him in a healthy, safe environment, so fed up, I stormed over to the manager\u2019s office. She wasn\u2019t there at first, but apparently someone had told her what was happening.
Then the manager walked up, yelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I overheard her coming from behind, yelling, \u201cLady, why are you making a scene in the middle of the store? Your kid needs to be more careful around fragile aisles, and you are the one responsible for all this!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I lost it. I told her, \u201cNo one here has the right to tell me how to raise my child. I never said I wouldn\u2019t pay for the plates, but I think your store workers should mind their own business instead of judging my motherhood.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By this point, my son was getting stressed out. He quietly told me, \u201cMom, just pay for it, for my sake.\u201d So I did. I paid and left, and honestly, I\u2019ll never step foot in that store again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
