Some doctors take humor a little too far. A man with hand numbness panicked when the doctor said, \u201cWe\u2019ll have to take it off,\u201d only to learn he meant the watch<\/em>. Another person pulling themselves out of a coma responded to a vocal-cord test by saying \u201cSomething,\u201d prompting the doctor to sigh, \u201cAt least the humor still works.\u201d And when a dentist saw bleeding gums, he scolded, \u201cYour toothbrush isn\u2019t training for the Olympics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even serious situations can bring unexpected awkwardness. One cardiologist grew confused when a patient brought their stepfather, leading to a long explanation about family ties.
