My husband always used to brag about being the provider. I didn\u2019t mind at first \u2014 it was true, he worked hard, and I appreciated that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But when he lost his job a couple of years ago, everything changed. I picked up more hours at work, got promoted, and now I make about three times what he used to earn. At first, he said he was proud of me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But lately, he\u2019s been acting weird. He keeps asking how I spend my money \u2014 things like why I bought new shoes or went out with my coworkers. It\u2019s like he can\u2019t handle the fact that I\u2019m the one paying the bills now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other night, we got into another argument about it, and I finally snapped. I told him, \u201cIf I pay the bills, I make the rules.\u201d He didn\u2019t say anything. Just looked at me for a few seconds and walked away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
