I\u2019ve always known I don\u2019t want kids. Much like many families out there, my family never liked that idea either, but I got used to the comments. Every holiday, someone would ask, \u201cWho\u2019s going to look after you when you\u2019re older?\u201d I\u2019d laugh it off or change the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then my parents started hinting that if I didn\u2019t \u201creconsider,\u201d they might leave me out of the will. I honestly thought they were just trying to scare me. But last month, my brother and his wife told us they can\u2019t have children. I could see my parents\u2019 faces change instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few days later, they sat me down and said it straight. If I don\u2019t have kids, they\u2019ll cut me out for real. No more jokes, no more \u201cjust saying.\u201d It was an ultimatum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now I feel like I\u2019m under a microscope. Every call, every visit, there\u2019s some comment about \u201ctime running out.\u201d I\u2019m hurt, and honestly, I\u2019m questioning if I even want to keep trying with them if this is how they see me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
