These marks are usually <strong>idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis (IGH)<\/strong>\u2014a very common, harmless skin change caused by long-term sun exposure and natural aging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IGH happens when pigment-producing cells slow down or disappear in small areas, leaving pale dots behind. They aren\u2019t dangerous, aren\u2019t caused by fungus, and don\u2019t require treatment.
