Robert Pattinson has hit back at critics who claimed the star \u2018didn\u2019t work out\u2019 to get in shape to play Batman.Pattinson, 40, played the caped crusader in The Batman in 2022 and is gearing up to reprise the role in The Batman: Part II, which is slated to be released in October 2027.The Twilight star followed in the steps of more bulked-up actors, including Ben Affleck and Christian Bale, with a leaner Batman and was met with a \u2018lukewarm reception to his superhero body\u2019.In a new interview with GQ, Pattinson responded to the criticism surrounding his physique and the claims that he \u2018didn\u2019t work out at all\u2019.\u201cI worked out every f***ing day,\u201d he told the publication.Even after that, I still look like I didn\u2019t work out. I worked out twice a day at, like, three o\u2019clock in the morning.\u201dSpeculating on why he garnered such a reaction in the first place, Pattinson partly blames his own comments in interviews, particularly one where he said exercise \u2018was uncool\u2019.\u201cI\u2019m like, It\u2019s just because I said it in an interview,\u201d he added.I was trying to sound cool!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pattinson made the comments in another GQ interview back in 2020, where he revealed he\u2019d given his personal trainer the slip.\u2018I think if you\u2019re working out all the time, you\u2019re part of the problem,\u201d he said.You set a precedent.
