She would later write a song about his story, C\u2019\u00e9tait un homme, translated as \u201cHe was a man.\u201dIn 1979, she met guitarist Fred Chichin, with whom she went on to form the rock group Les Rita Mitsouko. The duo created a unique sound, blending many different genres such as rock, funk, electronic music, and French chanson.I met Fred and entered the rock\u2019n\u2019roll circus,\u201d she told The Art Desk. \u201cThe rock people were like, \u2018She\u2019s not a real rocker.
