She studied classical Italian opera with vocal teacher Charity Chapman, then blended that training with her love of hard rock, drawing inspiration from artists such as Joan Jett, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and Guns N&#8217; Roses. Her parents reportedly supported her decision, with Cleo once saying they were happy she had no desire to become an actor. At 24, she released her debut album, <em>No More Lies<\/em>, after writing most of its songs and learning the complicated business side of recording and distribution. For a daughter of two celebrated actors, choosing music gave her a chance to build an identity beyond her famous family name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Cleo&#8217;s story later took a difficult turn when her mother sought a protective order in 2011 following an alleged confrontation at the family&#8217;s home. Court documents described serious accusations, including threats and an alleged physical attack involving scissors, while a temporary order required Cleo to stay 100 yards away from her mother. The case was eventually dismissed after neither appeared for the scheduled hearing, and the family did not publicly explain what followed. Years later, however, photographs began showing a noticeably warmer side of their relationship. Cleo appeared with both parents at public events and shared affectionate pictures with her mother, even calling Katharine her \u201cbest friend and biggest inspiration\u201d in a birthday tribute. Her bond with her father also remained strong, with Sam describing their simple tradition of walking along the Malibu beach together and searching for beautiful stones.
