For just a few seconds during Florida’s 52-28 victory over No. 4 Ole Miss on September 26, freshman Peyton Blomquist went from an ordinary fan in the stands to the unexpected focus of social media. The University of Florida student was captured by television cameras during the game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and the brief clip quickly spread online as viewers tried to identify her. Blomquist soon confirmed her identity on Instagram, posting photos from the game alongside a screenshot of the viral moment and the caption, “Work the cut.” Her newfound attention brought a dramatic jump in followers, reportedly taking her Instagram audience from fewer than 10,000 to more than 54,000 within days. Away from the viral clip, Blomquist is an 18-year-old nutritional science student on a pre-med track and a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She previously graduated from Lake Mary High School as salutatorian and was active in academic organizations, including the Biology and Medicine Club and ChemClub. She also has an athletic background, having played volleyball on a team that finished third at the 2019 AAU National Championships.

Yet the question filling her comments had little to do with football, academics or the Gators’ impressive upset. As thousands of new followers arrived, many wanted to know whether the college freshman was single. Some commenters joked about applying to become her partner, doing her laundry or even catching the attention of Florida players. Blomquist eventually decided to answer the question herself. Responding to one of the comments, she wrote, “Actually, I’m in the market for a husband, so maybe not.” Her playful response only added another memorable moment to a week that had already transformed her social-media presence. Meanwhile, the phrase she used in her original post, “Work the cut,” carries a connection to Florida coach Jon Sumrall, who drew inspiration from boxer Buster Douglas’ famous upset of Mike Tyson. What began as an ordinary Saturday watching college football had suddenly turned Blomquist into a recognizable face far beyond Gainesville.

For just a few seconds during Florida’s 52-28 victory over No. 4 Ole Miss on September 26, freshman Peyton Blomquist went from an ordinary fan in the…

[1

post-57435","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
