For years, Chad Lowe’s family life was filled with the ordinary moments that rarely make headlines: birthdays, outdoor adventures, family outings, and three daughters growing up together. With his wife, Kim Painter, Chad often shared glimpses of that life, describing fatherhood as an incredible privilege and speaking warmly about Mabel, Fiona, and Nixie. He especially loved getting the girls outdoors, taking them hiking and biking, and watching sunsets together. In November 2025, he celebrated Fiona’s 13th birthday with a heartfelt message encouraging her to “keep dancing through life,” reflecting her love of dance and the personality her family cherished. But months earlier, the family had already endured a painful upheaval when the Pacific Palisades fire destroyed their home, wiping out roughly a decade of memories and belongings.

The family eventually returned to the property so the girls could see what remained, and Chad praised their strength as they faced the ruins of their childhood home. At the time, his message centered on the fact that they still had one another, and life slowly began moving forward again. Then, in September 2026, the family faced an unimaginable second tragedy when Fiona died at age 13. Chad and Kim remembered their daughter as smart, creative, loving, and devoted to dance, calling her “the light of our lives.” Her school community described her as sweet, quiet, and kind, while her older sister Mabel later shared a tender childhood video that captured Fiona talking about her favorite colors and sports. As old photographs resurfaced, they offered glimpses of a childhood that once seemed endless. What had looked like simple family memories now carried a much deeper meaning for those left behind.
