Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attracted attention during their joint appearance in Nottingham on October 15, 2026, nearly nine years after their first official engagement together in the city. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex greeted cheering crowds, accepted flowers, and visited three charitable organizations supporting young people and vulnerable communities. Harry, 42, and Meghan, 45, also shared affectionate gestures, including Harry placing an arm around his wife’s shoulder. According to the Express, body-language expert Judi James identified five signals that caught her attention. She described their mutual embrace as a “double-cling,” suggesting they appeared to be holding onto each other for reassurance. James also noticed a brief expression on Meghan’s face that she interpreted as possible worry, although Meghan never publicly confirmed feeling that way. Harry’s raised palm toward the crowd and Meghan’s posture while he spoke were also included in the analysis. Meanwhile, Meghan’s burgundy outfit sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising the color and others criticizing her oversized coat.

The couple’s Nottingham visit included the Community Recording Studio, Himmah Hub, and Epic Partners, where they learned about programs addressing social isolation, food poverty, and challenges facing young people. Despite the royal attention surrounding their appearance, these were private charitable visits rather than official royal engagements. Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in January 2020, and King Charles III reiterated their nonworking status in a September 2026 letter. Their continued public appearances nevertheless generate considerable interest, with supporters welcoming their return and critics debating their clothing and expressions. James interpreted Meghan’s hand near her throat and arm across her torso as possible signs of vulnerability, but body language alone cannot establish someone’s private emotions. Ultimately, the Nottingham outing combined charitable work, personal history, and renewed public scrutiny, leaving observers discussing everything from the couple’s affectionate gestures to Meghan’s fashion choices.
