Prince William has offered a rare glimpse into his private life, reflecting on his parents’ divorce and vowing not to repeat the same mistakes with his own children.
In a special episode of The Reluctant Traveler with actor Eugene Levy, filmed inside Windsor Castle, the Prince of Wales spoke candidly about balancing royal duty with family life. He recalled the intense media scrutiny he and Prince Harry faced as children and said he’s determined to shield his family from similar pressures.
“Growing up, I saw that with my parents,” he said. “The damage it can do to your family life is something I vowed would never happen to mine.”
William also reflected on the impact of his parents’ divorce when he was eight, saying the experience shaped his commitment to creating a stable, loving home for his children. Family, he emphasized, is his top priority.
Beyond his personal reflections, William spoke about gradual but meaningful changes he hopes to bring to the monarchy, ensuring that Prince George inherits a role and institution he can be proud of. He shared memories of Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor and admitted he often thinks of her.
The relaxed, unscripted interview marked a notable shift in how the Royal Family connects with the public — showing William as open, relatable, and deeply focused on both family and the future of the monarchy.
