Lisa, a young lawyer engaged to Max, believes he needs money for his father’s surgery. Suspicious after his odd behavior, she tracks down his address—only to discover he is already married to a woman named Kate. Shocked and hurt, Lisa teams up with Kate when they realize Max has been scamming them both and living under false identities.

They plan to expose him by transferring money to track his movements, but Max and Kate (who was secretly still working with him) flee with Lisa’s savings and steal her treasured family heirloom ring. Determined, Lisa discovers the ring is being sold at an underground auction. She disguises herself, wins the ring back, and has the police arrest Kate at the event. Kate eventually betrays Max to reduce her sentence, leading to Max’s arrest as well.
