During a late-night flight, a young boy around ten kept kicking the back of my dad’s seat. My dad politely asked him to stop, and the kid did—but only for about ten seconds before starting again. After a couple more interruptions, it became clear the parents weren’t going to do anything.
So, my dad calmly reclined his seat all the way back. Almost immediately, the boy’s parents got upset, saying their son’s mother was uncomfortable and demanding that he put the seat back up. My dad simply stayed quiet as they called over a flight attendant.
When the flight attendant arrived, the boy’s father complained loudly about the reclined seat. The attendant turned to my dad and asked, “Sir, would you like to keep your seat down?” My dad said, “Yes, please,” without hesitation.
The flight attendant nodded and walked away, leaving the frustrated parents speechless. After that, the kicking magically stopped, and the rest of the flight was peaceful.
