Little Johnny failed his math test so badly that his teacher called home. When Johnny walked in that afternoon, his father stood at the door, clearly furious. “Why did you fail your math test?” he demanded.
Johnny shrugged and said, “Because my teacher isn’t very good.” His father frowned, confused, and asked him to explain. Johnny began, “On Monday, she said 3+5 equals 8. On Tuesday, she said 4+4 equals 8. And on Wednesday, she told us 6+2 equals 8.”
Now his father looked even more puzzled. “Okay… and what does that have to do with you failing?” he asked, trying to understand.
Johnny threw his hands up dramatically. “If my teacher doesn’t even know what equals eight, how am I supposed to know the right answer?” His father was left completely speechless.
