Aria went into labor excited and nervous, with her husband Dave by her side—until his mother called. Even as Aria’s contractions intensified, Dave answered his phone, grew anxious, and suddenly announced he needed to leave “just for a moment.” Despite Aria begging him to stay, he rushed out of the hospital to help his mother with her groceries. Aria was devastated and felt abandoned when she needed him most.
A nurse noticed Aria’s distress and comforted her, helping her call her father instead. Her dad arrived quickly, holding her hand and supporting her through the painful final hours. With her father on one side and a nurse on the other, Aria delivered a healthy baby girl—without her husband. She asked the nurse to record the birth, since Dave had taken the camera, and later left the video and a letter behind.
When Dave eventually returned, Aria and the baby were gone. In her letter, she told him he had missed a once-in-a-lifetime moment by choosing his mother’s groceries over his child’s birth. She stayed with her father, refusing to speak to Dave until he understood what he had done. Days later, Dave showed up full of regret, begging for forgiveness.
Aria didn’t immediately forgive him, telling him that trust had to be earned now. She agreed to give him one chance—only if he proved he could put his family first. Dave promised never to abandon them again, but Aria is still waiting for his mother to apologize too.
