Every Friday night, Susan’s peaceful routine was shattered by loud parties next door and a familiar annoyance Jessica’s guests constantly blocking her driveway. Despite repeated complaints, Jessica brushed her off with a wine glass in hand and a smug smile. Things escalated when Susan’s mother had a medical emergency and Susan was trapped at home, unable to reach her car. She had to call a taxi in a panic, and that night became the breaking point.
The next Friday, Susan came prepared. She parked her car at just the right angle to trap all the party guests’ vehicles. When Jessica stormed over, furious and demanding she move it, Susan calmly said she couldn’t—she had been drinking and wouldn’t risk driving. When the police arrived, Susan, still holding her beer, told the officer she was parked on her own property and too “tipsy” to legally drive.
Officer Miller, barely suppressing a grin, told Jessica there was nothing he could do. The following morning, Susan took it a step further. She filed a formal complaint and handed over video evidence of the repeated offenses. Officer Miller returned with her to Jessica’s house and issued fines for illegal parking. Jessica was humiliated in front of the neighborhood and warned that future incidents could lead to more serious consequences.
Word spread quickly. Neighbors cheered Susan’s bold move, and Jessica’s guests never parked in her driveway again. Susan finally reclaimed her peace and her parking spot. With a little clever thinking and a lot of patience, she turned the tables on entitlement once and for all.
