Gloria Zamora, 40-Year-Old Influencer & Mom of 7, Died with Her Date in Fontana, CA

The fitness coach had spent her life helping women reclaim their strength—but was tragically gunned down while trying to rebuild her own. On June 21, Gloria Zamora and her companion, Hector Garduno, were ambushed in a Fontana, California shopping plaza. Both later died from their injuries.

Police believe Zamora’s estranged husband, Thomas Lizarraga, found her at the restaurant. He opened fire before being shot and killed by an off-duty deputy who responded to the chaos. Zamora, a mother of seven and vocal advocate for women’s wellness, had recently spoken about ending a toxic marriage to reclaim her life.

Her daughter launched a fundraiser that has raised over $32,000, calling Gloria “a light in her community.” Garduno, a devoted father of four, is also being remembered, with over $9,000 raised in his name. Both families mourn lives taken too soon by violence.

In a separate tragedy, 18-year-old Gwendolyn Smith was shot and killed in her stepfather’s home by Ryne Leist, a former bowling coach. Authorities say Leist then took his own life. The Bedford community, now grieving deeply, has rallied to honor Gwen’s memory with vigils, donations, and heartfelt tributes from family, friends, and school officials.
