My wife and I have been married for three years and our household duties are equally shared. My wife usually does the cooking and I do the laundry, things like that. But last month, my wife got sick, and she was unable to fulfil her part of the agreement. When I got home from work that night, I was very tired, so I only made dinner for myself. I didn’t think it was a big deal, she was sleeping when I arrived, and it wasn’t like she was dying; she just had a cold. I figured she’d order something when she woke up.
A little while later, she woke up. When she came out and saw me eating, she looked shocked and angry. She asked if I cooked for her as well, and I said no. I told her that she was sleeping, and I was exhausted, so I only made a sandwich for myself. She started crying and yelled at me, saying that she wanted a divorce. I thought she was being ridiculous. It was just a dinner, not a night on the town, and it wasn’t like I made anything fancy either. But she insisted that I was being insensitive and that I didn’t care about her.
