Claire is exhausted caring for her newborn daughter, Sophie, while her husband Daniel grows more distant every day. Instead of supporting his family, he becomes irritated by the normal noise of a baby. One night, Claire finds him packing a bag—he coldly announces he’s leaving to stay with his friend Alex because the baby is “too loud” and the house is “chaotic.”
Shocked and heartbroken, Claire begs him to stay, but Daniel walks out without hesitation. Left alone with the baby, she breaks down, realizing she can’t do everything by herself. Desperate, she calls Daniel’s mother, Margaret, even though they haven’t been close since the birth.
As soon as Margaret hears what happened, she becomes firm and protective. Outraged at her son’s behavior, she tells Claire she’s coming immediately. For the first time since Daniel abandoned her, Claire feels a flicker of relief — she won’t be facing this nightmare alone.
But Margaret’s arrival is only the beginning — and together, they will make Daniel regret ever walking out on his family.
