Our Dog Wouldn’t Stop Barking at Our Newborn’s Crib — What I Discovered Under the Mattress Left Me Stunned

After nine months working overseas, I finally came home to my wife Ruby and our newborn daughter Jenna. At first, everything seemed perfect. I held Jenna in my arms, soaking in the joy of being home. Max, our loyal German Shepherd, watched over us closely, like a silent guardian.

But soon, Max started acting strangely around the baby’s crib—barking, whining, and pacing. One night, I followed him to the nursery and lifted the mattress. Hidden underneath was a positive pregnancy test, recent and unmistakable.

When I confronted Ruby, she broke down and confessed. During a lonely night at her mother’s, she had an affair with James, an old college friend. She’d tried to keep it a secret, even spending money on baby supplies that didn’t add up, but Max’s behavior revealed the truth.

Heartbroken and betrayed, I realized the dog’s loyalty had outshone my wife’s. That night, I packed my bags and left, telling Ruby I’d have my lawyer contact her about custody.

Though she claimed to still love me, I knew trust was broken beyond repair. Looking at Max, faithful as ever, I whispered, “Just you and me now, boy.” The future was uncertain, but with him by my side, I hoped we’d both heal in time.
