My MIL Tried to Ruin My Wedding – Then My Fiancé Wanted to Delay It Because of Her ‘Vision’

Gracie met Daniel in a Portland bookstore, and after two years of love, laughter, and planning, they were just weeks away from their dream wedding. The only problem was his mother, Marie—a woman obsessed with “visions” and spiritual warnings. From criticizing their wedding colors to analyzing Gracie’s handwriting, Marie found endless ways to undermine her. Still, Gracie and Daniel pushed forward—until Marie claimed she had a terrifying dream showing Gracie destroying her son. Daniel hesitated, shaken by his mother’s fear, and asked to delay the wedding.

Everything spiraled when Gracie ran into Marie, who insisted Gracie was hiding “dark secrets.” Soon after, Gracie discovered Marie had broken into her storage unit, stolen her old journal, and used her past trauma to convince Daniel she was unstable. But seeing his mother’s cruelty, Daniel finally snapped. He defended Gracie, called out Marie’s manipulation, and threw her out.

Though Daniel stood up for her, Gracie realized the damage was deep. She needed time to rebuild trust—and to see if Daniel could truly separate himself from his mother’s control. They postponed the wedding and both went to therapy, slowly repairing what had been broken. Six months later, they married in a small ceremony surrounded only by supportive people. Marie refused to attend, sending one last bitter letter that Daniel ignored.

In the end, Gracie and Daniel survived Marie’s sabotage—not because of visions or curses, but because Daniel finally chose love over fear. Their wedding wasn’t cursed after all; it was stronger for everything they had overcome.
