A grandmother babysat her grandkids for five days while her son and daughter-in-law vacationed in Mexico. She hadn’t wanted to do it at first, but agreed after her son got emotional.
During that time, she was invited to a birthday at Epcot and took the kids with her. She didn’t think she needed permission, especially for Epcot — not Magic Kingdom — and didn’t know it was a “first Disney trip” her daughter-in-law cared deeply about.
When the parents returned, the daughter-in-law cried, accused her of “stealing a first,” and demanded an apology. The grandmother refused, saying they guilted her into babysitting and shouldn’t control where she goes.
The family is now divided: some say she did nothing wrong, others say she should have asked since Disney was meaningful to the parents.
