I inherited my grandmother’s house, but after my dad remarried, he insisted it should have gone to him. A week later, he and his new wife moved in without asking. She immediately began redecorating—throwing out my things, rearranging rooms, and replacing items without permission. When she tossed my favorite sofa and vintage desk, I’d had enough.
Instead of fighting, I decided to make her uncomfortable. Whenever my dad was gone, I quietly undid her changes—moving furniture, shifting decorations, and placing my grandmother’s belongings around the house to unsettle her. Eventually, she started complaining that things felt “off.”
One night, while she was decorating, I walked past wearing my grandmother’s shawl. She saw me, thought she’d seen a ghost, and panicked. Later she told my dad the house was haunted and that she didn’t feel safe living there.
By the next morning, she had packed her bags.
