A man was extremely proud of having six children and talked about it every chance he got. He was so proud, in fact, that he started calling his wife “Mother of Six,” even though she repeatedly asked him to stop. He thought it was funny and wore the nickname like a badge of honor, convinced everyone admired his accomplishment just as much as he did.
One night at a party, he decided it was time to go home and looked around for his wife. Raising his voice confidently, he called out, “Mother of Six, are you ready to leave?” The room went silent. A moment later, his wife stood up, smiled sweetly, and replied, “Yes, Father of Four — I’ll be right there.”
