Ever since Evan married Sam, his brother Brian and sister-in-law Jill belittled her career as a massage therapist. At a family dinner, Jill sneered, “You’ll never afford a house on your meager salary. And touching old people? Gross.” Sam stayed calm. “Helping those in need, especially the elderly, is more fulfilling to me than managing stock exchanges,” she said, holding her dignity while Evan bit back his anger.
Weeks later, Sam came home glowing. An elderly client she treated had praised her so much to her son, Anthony, that he offered to fund and renovate her clinic — and even set her up with an office at the nursing home.
Not long after, Jill walked into Sam’s clinic, stricken with back pain. She froze when she realized who her therapist was. “Samantha? I’m… sorry for what I said,” Jill muttered. Sam smiled kindly. “Let’s focus on helping you today.”
Two sessions later, Jill was singing her praises to the entire family: “Samantha has magic in her hands!” Evan couldn’t have been prouder. The career Jill once mocked became the very thing she came to depend on.
