New CCTV footage shows Nick Reiner calmly buying a drink at a gas station shortly before his arrest in connection with the killing of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, who were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home. In another clip, he is seen surrendering with his hands raised as police surround him several miles from the crime scene.
The 32-year-old has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and the use of a deadly weapon. Reports say he had argued with his parents the night before at a party hosted by Conan O’Brien, and sources cite a long history of addiction and mental health struggles. Reiner has not yet entered a plea, and his attorney, Alan Jackson, said he was not medically cleared to appear in court.
