Dog Barks at Coffin during Funeral, Suspicious Son Opens It and Finds It Empty – Story of the Day

Ryan’s heart sank when his dog Bella bolted into the church and barked at his father’s casket. At first, he dismissed it, but when Bella sat in her alert stance, Ryan knew something was wrong. Ignoring the shocked gasps, he opened the coffin—only to find it empty.

The funeral turned chaotic. His mother fainted, and Ryan rushed her to the hospital. Later, determined to find answers, he learned the coroner had mysteriously resigned and his father’s file was missing. Then his father’s lawyer revealed shocking news: Ryan was now CEO of Arnold’s company, which was drowning in debt.

Suspicion grew when Ryan followed his father’s secretary, Miss Pearson. In her home, he found a $7 million life insurance policy naming her as the sole beneficiary. Soon after, detectives discovered she was trying to flee the country. But she vanished before they could catch her.

Convinced his father was still alive, Ryan devised a trap. He bought a rare figurine his father had long coveted and placed it in an auction, ensuring Arnold would hear about it. As bidding escalated, a familiar voice stunned Ryan: “One million dollars.”

Arnold, alive and disguised, had taken the bait. Detective Bradshaw moved in and handcuffed him. Betrayed, Ryan confronted his father, who admitted he faked his death to run off with Miss Pearson, using life insurance money and a falsified death certificate.

“You taught me to do what’s right, not follow selfish interests,” Ryan said coldly. “I guess you forgot your own lesson.” With his father taken away, Ryan knew Bella had been right from the start—sometimes, the truth comes from where you least expect it.
