My Entitled Daughter Stole My Wedding, but I Didn’t Let It Slide

On my wedding day, Adam and I were stuck in traffic, late to our own ceremony. I asked my daughter Amanda to keep guests entertained until we arrived. She agreed sweetly.

But when we finally pulled up, I was stunned—Amanda stood on the steps in a wedding dress, bouquet in hand, with her boyfriend Kyle beside her. She had stolen my wedding.

“Don’t be mad, Mommy,” she chirped. “You’ll get married another day. Kyle and I already tied the knot.”

I wanted to scream, but instead I smiled and let her play her game. At the reception, she cut my cake, took my spotlight, and later even demanded my honeymoon tickets. I gave them to her without a fight—knowing exactly what she didn’t.

Two days later, Amanda called me furious. “You tricked me! These tickets were for the Arctic! I hate the cold!”

I bit back laughter. Adam and I had always planned an Arctic expedition after Chile. Amanda had never checked the itinerary.

A week later, my sister threw Adam and me a beautiful celebration. We received all the wedding gifts since the guests knew whose day it truly was.

As for Amanda? Her new marriage was already crumbling. She may have hijacked my wedding, but karma had the last word.
