Demi Moore Speaks Out After Emma Heming’s Decision to Move Husband Bruce Willis to a ‘Second Home’

Bruce Willis’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, praised Emma Heming Willis’s caregiving decisions after Emma faced public criticism for moving Bruce to a specialized care home. Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2022, and Emma explained in an ABC interview with Diane Sawyer on August 26, 2025, that the move was one of the hardest choices she has ever made.

Emma described the facility as Bruce’s “second home,” providing round-the-clock care while allowing their daughters to live in a more balanced environment. “Bruce would want them to have a home tailored to their needs, not his,” she said.

Following the interview, Emma addressed backlash on Instagram, emphasizing that people without direct experience as caregivers often don’t fully understand such decisions. She urged others not to judge based on opinions alone, quoting her therapist’s advice: “Everyone will have an opinion, but most don’t have the experience to back it up.”

Demi Moore publicly supported Emma during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, praising her strength and courage. “So much fell on Emma to figure out,” Demi said, adding that she deeply admired how Emma balanced fear, love, and resilience while caring for Bruce. Demi also highlighted the importance of caregivers prioritizing their own well-being.

Public reaction was divided. Some criticized Demi for speaking out, while many applauded the family’s unity. Supporters noted the strong bond between Emma and Demi, with one commenter writing, “They both love Bruce and want what’s best for him and their family.”

The ABC special also highlighted tender family moments, including recent photos shared by Bruce and Demi’s daughter, Tallulah, on June 22, 2025. The images showed Bruce spending quality time with loved ones, sparking emotional reactions from fans.

Bruce’s diagnosis was first revealed in 2022 when the family shared that he had aphasia. In February 2023, they confirmed frontotemporal dementia. Since then, the Willis family has been open about their journey, sharing heartfelt posts to celebrate Bruce’s milestones and honor their bond.
