Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Mother Gives a Heated Response to Bombshell ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’ Netflix Documentary

Janice Combs, the mother of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, has spoken out forcefully against Netflix’s recent docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, calling its portrayal of her and her son deeply misleading. In a statement to the press, Janice firmly denied allegations suggesting she was an abusive parent or that her son was physically violent toward her. She described those claims as “inaccurate and patently false,” emphasizing that she raised Sean as a single mother while working multiple jobs to provide stability, love, and opportunity. According to her, the series distorts painful moments from their past and presents speculation as fact, causing unnecessary harm to her family’s reputation.

The four-part Netflix documentary, which examines Diddy’s rise, controversies, and recent legal troubles, includes interviews and previously unseen footage captured shortly before his arrest. While the filmmakers maintain the project was produced responsibly and with legal clearance, Janice Combs has demanded public retractions, arguing the series intentionally misrepresents her son’s upbringing to sensationalize the narrative. Netflix has stood by the documentary, stating it was not intended as retaliation or a “hit piece.” The dispute unfolds alongside the continued legal fallout from Diddy’s federal conviction and ongoing appeal. For Janice, however, the issue goes beyond headlines—she says her statement is about correcting the record and defending the truth of a family story she believes has been unfairly rewritten for public consumption.
