In 1965, Paul Harvey gave a warning on the radio.

In 1965, a memorable warning was shared with everyone. Now, more than fifty years later, it has sadly become reality, and it’s unsettling to think about.Paul Harvey was a well-known American news commentator and radio pioneer, famous for his unique speaking style. He had a huge audience and was easily recognized for his dramatic pauses and distinctive way of presenting news stories.Even though he was very accurate in his reporting, no one expected that his famous words from years ago would actually describe today’s reality. More than fifty years ago, the well-known ABC Radio commentator Paul Harvey, born in 1918, seemed to predict what the United States would be like now during a broadcast in 1965.

Paul Harvey was born in 1918, and by the mid-20th century, he had already established himself as a household name in the world of radio, particularly through his work with ABC Radio. In 1965, he delivered a monologue that was not just a piece of reporting or commentary on current events, but rather a visionary insight into the trajectory of the United States. His words described what might happen if the Devil were to infiltrate and corrupt the nation. Although listeners at the time may have found the broadcast thought-provoking or even exaggerated, in hindsight, many find it to be an unsettlingly accurate depiction of the challenges society faces today. In If I Were the Devil, Harvey detailed how moral decay, corruption, and division could take hold in America. He spoke of undermining the family structure, weakening faith in institutions, and promoting hedonism and materialism. He warned that such influences would lead to a breakdown in societal values, where wrong would be right, and right would be scorned.
