Former U.S. President Joe Biden, 82, has sparked concern after being spotted with visible stitches on his head, leading to widespread public speculation. Officials have now confirmed that Biden recently underwent Mohs surgery, a precise procedure used to treat skin cancer.

The news comes after Biden was seen attending a Labor Day church service, where photos captured the fresh scar on his scalp. This follows his earlier 2023 surgery to remove a basal cell carcinoma lesion from his chest, showing his proactive approach to managing skin-related health issues.

Mohs surgery removes thin layers of skin one at a time, examining each layer under a microscope to ensure all cancerous cells are eliminated while preserving healthy tissue. It is often used for delicate areas like the face and scalp.

Earlier this year, Biden also shared that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. In an emotional social media post, he spoke about the shared pain of cancer and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support he and his wife have received.
