RHONY alum Bethenny Frankel, 55, reveals chronic kidney disease diagnosis

Bethenny Frankel, 55, has revealed that she was diagnosed with stage two chronic kidney disease after months of routine health testing. In a candid TikTok video, the reality star explained that repeated blood tests showed consistently low kidney function results, prompting a visit to a kidney specialist she initially didn’t want to attend. The doctor confirmed the diagnosis and suggested it could be linked to a past traumatic allergic reaction that nearly killed her, possible autoimmune issues, or recurring urinary tract infections. Frankel admitted she doesn’t drink enough water and was told that “water is your medicine,” along with instructions to avoid medications like ibuprofen and Advil. She also shared that she has low blood pressure, POTS, and a history of severe dehydration, adding that this condition may be something she manages long-term.

Rather than causing panic, Frankel used her announcement to urge fans to take proactive control of their health. She stressed the importance of thorough and regular blood work, follow-up testing, and paying attention to abnormal patterns rather than ignoring them. Chronic kidney disease, she noted, can progress quietly, making early detection crucial. Frankel has previously spoken about maintaining her health through daily walking, better sleep, and reduced alcohol intake, and recently dealt with a facial bacterial infection that cut short a vacation. Her message was clear: serious health issues can surface unexpectedly, but staying informed, consistent with medical checkups, and honest about symptoms can make all the difference. Her story serves as a reminder that prevention and awareness are powerful tools — and that listening to your body today may protect your future tomorrow.
