After her father’s funeral, Claire inherits his farm—and the feud he left behind. Dog mess on her porch points to bitter neighbor Walter, whose Rottweiler roams the line between their properties. Before she can read it, someone defaces the farmhouse with red paint—“LIAR. DEVIL.”—then speeds off. Security footage catches the plate: Walter’s son, Carlos. Claire storms over to confront them, but Carlos spits that her father ruined their family. Shaken, she finally opens the letter.
