After a viral kiss cam moment with her boss at a July Coldplay concert, Kristin Cabot’s quiet divorce filing adds a new twist to the story.
Kristin, chief people officer at Manhattan tech firm Astronomer, filed for divorce from Massachusetts distillery COO Andrew Cabot on August 13, weeks after being caught on camera kissing Astronomer’s married CEO, Andy Byron. The case remains active, with a November 26 court date scheduled in New Hampshire.
On September 8, one day after NBC News reported the filing, Andrew issued a statement to People through a spokeswoman, clarifying that he and Kristin had already separated before the concert and that the split was “amicable and private.” He asked for privacy amid speculation.
The kiss cam clip, filmed July 16 at a Coldplay show in Foxborough, Massachusetts, showed Kristin hiding her face while Andy ducked away, prompting Chris Martin to joke, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” The footage went viral, sparking debate about workplace ethics and power dynamics.
Reports later revealed Andy is married to Megan Carrigan Byron. Kristin was previously divorced from Kenneth Thornby, with whom she shares a child, before marrying Andrew. Public records show Kristin and Andrew bought a $2.2M home in Rye, New Hampshire, in February 2025. Andrew, a Harvard-educated entrepreneur, has been married twice before and has two children.
The couple’s relationship was rarely public until May 2024, when Kristin appeared at Andrew’s daughter’s 25th birthday. Following the viral scandal, Kristin deactivated her social media accounts.
