Millie Bobby Brown revealed Henry Cavill set ‘very strict’ boundaries for her while working together

Millie Bobby Brown once spoke openly about the professional boundaries actor Henry Cavill maintained while they worked together on the Enola Holmes films. The two stars appeared alongside each other in Netflix’s 2020 mystery film Enola Holmes and returned for its sequel, Enola Holmes 2. In a 2022 interview with Deadline, Brown explained that her relationship with Cavill felt very different from the close, sibling-like friendships she shares with her Stranger Things co-stars. Having grown up working with actors such as Noah Schnapp and Charlie Heaton since she was around 10 years old, Brown said those friendships naturally became very relaxed and informal. With Cavill, however, the dynamic felt more like a respectful adult friendship. She described it as a “healthy” relationship built on professionalism and clear boundaries, which she said she appreciated while continuing to grow in the entertainment industry.

Brown also revealed that Cavill had “very strict” rules when it came to their conversations off camera. According to the actress, he preferred to keep his personal life separate from work and made that clear to her from the start. Brown joked that if she asked about his private life, Cavill would immediately shut the topic down and remind her that it was off-limits. While she found the rules amusing at times, she said she respected them and understood the importance of maintaining professional boundaries. Cavill, for his part, has spoken positively about Brown as well, calling her an extraordinary talent and saying he was happy to support her in the Enola Holmes franchise, where she plays the title character and Sherlock Holmes is portrayed by Cavill. The films have been an important milestone in Brown’s career, marking one of her first major leading roles and helping her develop as an actress while working alongside experienced performers in the industry.
