My Roommate Kept Using Me as Her Personal Shopper, So I Got Creative with My Revenge

Kelly’s roommate, Taryn, constantly asked her to buy expensive groceries with promises to pay her back, but she never did. Things came to a head when Taryn gave Kelly a long list of premium items for a party, including gourmet cheese, imported chocolates, and fine wine. Fed up with being taken advantage of, Kelly decided to get revenge by buying the cheapest versions of everything instead.

On the night of the party, Taryn proudly served her guests, only to watch in horror as they gagged on the cheap boxed wine and laughed at the processed cheese slices. The chocolates tasted like cardboard, and one by one, the guests left, embarrassed for her. Kelly subtly rubbed it in, making it clear that Taryn’s freeloading days were over.

At first, Taryn was furious and accused Kelly of sabotaging her party. But as she reflected, she realized Kelly was right—she had been selfish and entitled for months, expecting Kelly to do all the work without gratitude or repayment. The humiliation was a wake-up call.

From that day forward, Taryn stopped asking Kelly for favors and learned to take responsibility for herself. Their friendship was never quite the same, but there was newfound respect and healthier boundaries between them.
