Erika Kirk made her first public remarks since her husband, Charlie Kirk, was fatally shot on September 10. Fighting back tears, she thanked first responders and officials for their support and expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Erika vowed to honor Charlie’s legacy by growing Turning Point USA, the organization he founded, and shared a touching moment with their three-year-old daughter, telling her that “Daddy is on a work trip with Jesus.”
Days earlier, JD and Usha Vance had escorted Charlie’s casket to Arizona, a powerful moment that drew nationwide sympathy.
The FBI is actively investigating the shooting, releasing surveillance images of the suspect and offering a $100,000 reward for tips. They recovered a high-powered rifle and other forensic evidence near the area where the shooter fled. While the motive remains unclear, Trump said investigators are making “big progress.”
Charlie was killed during a live event at Utah Valley University, just moments after a tense exchange during a Q&A session.
