The Mystery of the Long Hair

Lena had always trusted her husband, Mark. They had been married for seven years, and while life had its ups and downs, they were a solid team. Mark was completely bald, and Lena wore a neat pixie cut, so when she began finding long strands of hair in their bathroom, she was deeply unsettled.

At first, she brushed it off, thinking maybe it was from visiting friends or family. But as the days passed, more strands appeared, shimmering gold under the bathroom light. A pit formed in her stomach.

Her mind began racing. Could Mark be cheating?
But instead of letting suspicion fester, Lena decided to confront him. One evening, as they sat down for dinner, she asked casually, “Hey, Mark, have you noticed any… strange hair in the bathroom?”

Mark looked up, genuinely puzzled. “Hair? No. What kind of hair?”

“Long. Blonde. Definitely not mine,” Lena said carefully, watching his reaction.

He frowned, shrugged, and replied casually, “I have no idea, babe. Maybe it’s from when your sister visited?”

Relieved but not entirely convinced, Lena decided to let it go—for the moment. But the next few days, the strands kept appearing. That’s when she resolved to find out the truth herself.
