Sisters Named ‘Cookie’ and ‘Kitty’ Accused in the Passing of a Mom of Five – Victim’s Last Facebook Post Is Chilling – Details

What began as an ordinary afternoon in Del Rio, Texas, ended in a heartbreaking tragedy that left an entire community in shock. Caroline “Caro” Peña, a 32-year-old mother of five, was fatally stabbed in broad daylight on June 25, 2026, after an altercation that police say involved three women who allegedly knew her. Despite being rushed to a local hospital and later airlifted to a medical center in San Antonio for emergency surgery, Caro died from her injuries that evening. Authorities arrested sisters Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, and Amaya “Cookie” Diaz, 19, along with their friend Kyandra Renee Faz, 21, charging all three with murder. Investigators believe the confrontation began after Caro arrived at one of the suspects’ homes before escalating into a violent attack captured in part by surveillance cameras. The suspects were later arrested without incident and each received a $5 million bond while awaiting further court proceedings. Police have not publicly disclosed a motive, and the investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine what led to the deadly confrontation.

Friends and family remember Caro as a generous, devoted mother who always put others before herself. Loved ones described her as someone who would gladly share her last possession with anyone in need and whose greatest joy was raising her five children, including two with autism. A fundraiser has been launched to support the children as they face life without their mother. One detail that has deeply affected many people is Caro’s final Facebook post, shared just days before her death. The video included a Spanish message that translated to, “May God protect me from what my eyes do not see and my ears do not hear,” a prayer that many now find haunting in light of the tragedy. As the legal case moves forward, the Del Rio community continues mourning the loss of a woman remembered for her kindness, while hoping justice will be served and her children receive the care and support they need during this incredibly difficult time.
