Behind Tim Curry’s unforgettable characters was a deeply private man who carried family losses for decades. In his 2025 memoir Vagabond, Curry opened up about the two women who remained closest to his roots: his mother, Patricia, and his older sister, Judy. His father died after suffering a stroke when Tim was only 12, leaving behind the haunting instruction, “Look after your mother.” Patricia lived until 80, dying from melanoma in 1999. Although their relationship could be complicated, Curry tried to be there for her during her final months. After her death, he and Judy spent time together driving through Norfolk and scattering their mother’s ashes.
